Michael S. Gillen
President and Founder

 

A retired Baton Rouge City Police officer, Mr. Gillen has been investigating traffic collisions since 1977. As founder and supervisor of the Baton Rouge Police Traffic Homicide Unit, Sgt. Gillen was directly responsible for the on-scene investigation and reconstruction of all critical and fatal injury collisions handled by the BRPD, developing cases and providing court testimony for criminal prosecution.

 

Since founding NCTI in 1993, Mr. Gillen has conducted accident reconstructions in over 2,000 cases, personally overseeing the continuing development of the company. Armed with over 1,000 hours of formal training and over 47 years of experience, he has provided expert testimony in over 500 civil and criminal cases as an expert witness in traffic reconstruction.​ His testimony has been accepted in:

  • Federal Courts: USDCMDLA, USDCEDLA, USDCWDLA, CDCNOLA

  • State Courts: 5th, 7th, 9th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 25th, 26th, 29th, 30th, 31st, 33rd, 40th JDC

  • Local/Other Courts: 1st City Court - Jefferson Parish, Lafayette City Court, Baton Rouge City Court, Forest County, MS, Hattiesburg, MS, Bexar County, TX

  • Military Court: Fort Polk Military Court

  • Mr. Gillen's testimony has also been upheld by the Louisiana Supreme Court.
